This is a fantastic way to help young students learn to hold and use a mouse! I wish I had done it a long time ago. I instruct children to grasp the sides of the mouse with their thumb on the left and their other fingers on the right...then to slip their pointing finger over onto the "L". I have noticed a huge difference in their ability to focus on clicking the left side of the mouse. I used a gold paint pen which dries within seconds.

As always, summer has whizzed by once again! Many of you are back at school already...another week for me. I'm feeling those anxious, but excited, emotions of returning to the classroom. Some of you may have seen my lesson plan to use with wordle.com...an online tool that allows you to create word collages. I recently ran across this great idea on the K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Sister) Blog and wanted to share it with you...what a wonderful personal way to welcome your students!
